The Knights of Columbus Archbishop Rummel Council No. 5747 presented a $5,000 check to the St. Bernard Parish School Board made possible with proceeds from the Louisiana Crawfish Festival.
The donation will fund projects within the special education department and continues a longstanding relationship between the Knights of Columbus and the School Board.
Superintendent Doris Voitier applauded the group for its long history supporting the school system.
“The support of the Knights of Columbus has been without fail for decades,” she said. “It is thanks to our connections with our community and our partners, like the Knights of Columbus, that we are able to provide a first-class school system.”
Vice President Diana Dysart reiterated Voiter’s sentiments and added, “We know the long hours and hard work that goes into the Crawfish Festival. We are so grateful for all they do and their commitment to our schools.”
