Update from the Superintendent (08.10.2021)

Families,

Each year, our school district unites around a single theme. After the challenges and hardships of last year, it is fitting that this school year our theme will stress the importance of UNITY. We thank you for your continued support of our school system. Through our unified approach, we can foster a learning environment where all students can grow and succeed.

The St. Bernard Parish Public School System understands that the current health crisis continues to negatively impact the livelihood of many of our families. In an attempt to ease the burden our families may be facing, this year, students will not be required to pay the $15 instructional fee for elementary and middle school, and the $25 instructional fee for high school is also waived. Also, due to the Community Eligibility Provision of the National Lunch Program, breakfast and lunch will once again be served every school day to all students at no cost.

Please know that the health and well-being of our students and staff remain my and our School Board Members’ number one concern. With the mitigation efforts in place and the continued emphasis on social distancing, we believe our schools remain a safe place for our students and staff. You can access our 2021-2022 Return to School Guidance for the most up-to-date information. This guidance provides an overview of COVID-19 health and safety protocols in place throughout St. Bernard Parish Public Schools and will be evaluated and adjusted as new guidance from health and government officials is received.

Please visit our websites, social media pages, and YouTube channel for information throughout the year about all of the good things happening throughout our district. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your school principal.

We look forward to a great school year, and we thank you for entrusting your child to the St. Bernard Parish Public School System.

As always, stay well, stay informed, and let’s work to keep the unity in our community.

Sincerely,

Doris Voitier

Superintendent of St. Bernard Parish Public Schools
