Chalmette High School AFJROTC Receives Highest Rating During Inspection

The Air Force Junior ROTC instructors and cadets of Chalmette High School received the highest rating possible during its most recent inspection. The unit’s assessment score of “Exceeds Standards” is a testament to all involved in the program. Douglas J. McLane, Regional Director of AFJROTC, praised the program’s leadership team of Lt Col David E. Farley, MSgt Dale W. Steens citing the dynamic and supportive learning environment and the excellent community outreach the duo created. “ The instructors provided outstanding leadership in administering the cadet centered citizenship program.”

He also complimented the AFJROTC students at the school. “The Chalmette High School cadets performed exceptionally well and took great pride in leading and accomplishing their unit goals. The Chalmette High School Air Force Junior ROTC citizenship program is making a positive impact on the cadets, the school and the surrounding community.“

McClane explained that the purpose of the visit was to provide feedback regarding the performance of the unit, and stated earning the highest rating possible is important. “Achieving an “Exceeds Standards” rating is no small feat,” he said. “It takes a team effort and lots of hard work. Both attributes were evident throughout the visit.”  He went on to say that the two adults at the helm are clearly invested in the leadership and character development of their cadets, providing an unsurpassed level of mentorship and guidance on a daily basis. “Your program established the benchmark for others to follow! Thank you for your continued support in working towards our common goal to develop citizens of character for America.”
