St. Bernard Parish School Board Elect President, Vice President for 2023

Chalmette, LA - At its most recent board meeting, the St. Bernard Parish School Board held elections for president and vice president for the 2023 calendar year. Diana Dysart, who represents district 7, was unanimously elected as board president while Katherine Lemoine, the district 1 representative, was elected vice president.

Dysart has served on the board since 1983 and said she is proud of what the district has accomplished over the years.

“This board has truly worked as a team in support of our teachers, staff, and students,” Dysart said.

Also on hand for the meeting was Council Member at Large West, Richie Lewis, who presented the board with a proclamation in support of School Board Member Recognition Month. In his address, Lewis cited the great schools and public safety for reasons that families continue to call St. Bernard home.

“Our school board, sheriff’s office, and all of us in parish government really do work together for the good of our parish,” Lewis said. “We are grateful for these partnerships and the work you all do.”
