  • LMEA District Honor Band

    It was music to their ears when five St. Bernard Parish Public School students were recently selected to the Louisiana Music Educators Association District Honor Band.

  • STATE TESTING BEGINS IN APRIL

    State testing will take place for St. Bernard Parish students throughout the months of April and May. Paper-based testing will be given to students in grades 3 and 4. Computer-based testing will be given to grades 5-8. High school students taking Algebra I, Geometry, English I, English II, Biology, and U.S. History will take the LEAP2025 assessment for each of these courses throughout the month of May.

  • Registration for Pre-K 4 Opens

    St. Bernard Parish Public School District is one of the few districts in the state to offer a universal, tuition free Four Year Old Preschool Program. This program is for all children residing in the parish who will be four years of age by September 30, 2020.

  • St. Bernard Community Band Rehearsals

    The St. Bernard Community Concert Band is reuniting and looking for musicians to join. If you play an instrument and would like to join, please reach out to Kathy Gonzales at 504-914-8332. Rehearsals are every Wednesday starting tomorrow from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Andrew Jackson Middle School. Drop-ins are welcome.

    Seventy five students and administrators gathered in the library at Chalmette High School this afternoon to share in the great news – Chalmette High School history teacher was just announced as a 2020 National Teacher of the Year Finalist. Dier chose to celebrate this amazing accomplishment with the students he says made it all possible.

  • Five CHS Seniors Awarded Posse Scholarship

    Since 2011, the Posse Foundation has awarded $42.6 million in scholarship money to high school scholars in the greater New Orleans area. The highly competitive scholarships are given to only approximately 50 area seniors each year and award four-year, full tuition, merit-based leadership scholarships to the recipients.

  • School Board Hosts 14th Annual Breakfast

    Over 500 people attended the recent St. Bernard Parish School Board’s 14th annual Day of Reflection Breakfast. CHS senior Devin Cruice, CHS freshman Abigail Coker, and Trist 6th grader Jackson Nunez served as the narrators for this year’s breakfast held at the Chalmette High School Lacoste campus.

    The best and brightest of the Chalmette High School Class of 2019 gathered in the Chalmette High School Cultural Arts Center on April 24 for the school’s annual Senior Awards Night; a night in which about 70 seniors were recognized for their hard work, awarded over a million dollars in scholarship money, and named as coveted Golden Owls for their class.
