The mission of the Transportation Department is to provide quality school transportation through superior training and maintaining open lines of communication with all stakeholders, including parents, students, drivers, and schools, in order to maximize the safest, quickest and most reliable transportation for every student.
We take pride in what we do. Every bus driver and rider, receives on-going training to provide quality transportation to our students. We are in compliance with all federal, state and local transportation guidelines and laws and take this very seriously. We have one of the cleanest, safest, highest performing bus fleets in the area and pride ourselves on our safety record. Our department has 58 full-time employees including 50 full-time bus drivers and 5 bus riders. We provide transportation to and from school, to extracurricular events (games, practices, and competitions), and to co-curricular events (field trips, Academic Games, plays, 4H). We want our parents and community to know that they can depend on us to treat the children of St. Bernard Parish with the greatest of care.
