As a career education administrator, Millie Harris has dedicated her professional life to guiding at-risk youth to earning a high school diploma

For over 20 years Millie has been an active voice on educational issues at the State Capitol and the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education(BESE).

Recognized on the local, state, and national levels for her dedication to ensuring that all students have an opportunity to graduate high school, Millie has presented innovative and proven student retention, advancement, and graduation strategies at the National Dropout Prevention Conference, the National Alternative Education Association Conference, and at the Louisiana Association of Public Charter Schools Conference.

Millie has worked for organizations such as Methodist Home for Children, Bridge House/Grace House, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, University of Holy Cross, (formerly Our Lady of Holy Cross College) and the Jefferson Chamber Foundation. She currently serves as the founding Executive Director of JCFA.

JCFA is non-profit operating three non-traditional dropout prevention and recovery charter high schools in the south Louisiana, in partnership with Jefferson Parish Public Schools and BESE.

Millie has been recognized as the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce’s Member of the Year 2010, was a New Orleans City Business 2012 Woman of the Year Nominee, and has served on the National Alternative Education Association as Director for Region 6 in 2021.

Millie is a graduate of St. Mary’s Dominican High School and the University of New Orleans. She and her husband Ryan Aucoin reside in Meraux where they enjoy life with their children, Liam and Anna, two dogs, Mollie and June, and two cats, Sargent Fuzzy Boots and Major Pickles.

In her free time, Millie enjoys fishing with her family, gardening, and is a die-hard Who Dat.
