Chalmette High Senior Awards Night 2026 A Success

Each year, outstanding seniors from Chalmette High School are recognized at the annual Senior Awards Night - an evening dedicated to honoring academic achievements, leadership, and community involvement. Hosted at the Chalmette Cultural Arts Center, the event celebrates students as they prepare for their next chapter - whether that be college, vocational school, internships, or entering the workforce. Members from the Class of 2026 gathered with family, faculty, and community leaders to accept scholarships, awards, and special recognitions presented by local businesses, nonprofit organizations, alumni, and school officials. This year’s ceremony was a resounding success, with seniors collectively earning over $13 million in scholarships.

The evening concluded with the presentation of the highly-coveted “Golden Owl” awards, presented by Chalmette High teacher Tom Dugger, honoring exceptional students who represent the “gold standard” of education at Chalmette High. These students were recognized for their academic excellence and dedication to their community as well as for their kindness, character, and the genuine positivity that they bring to those around them. 

The record-breaking 19 honorees this year included: Celine Bioc, Destiny Bullock, Riley Cosgrove, David England, Avery Johnston, Lillian Lai, Franklin Lam, Lindsey Ludwig, Daniel Marchiafava, James McGinnis, Christian Miller, Tram Nguyen, Jackson Nunez, Hailey Pilet, Joemily Rivera Torres ,Molly Schroeder, Arieonna Walker, Zaylee Wolfe, Evan Ye.

Superintendent Doris Voitier praised all of the winners and expressed gratitude for the community’s continued support. “We’re incredibly thankful for the generosity of our community partners who make nights like this possible,” Voitier said. “No one is more deserving of this recognition than these outstanding seniors. As much as we’ll miss them, we know these scholarships are helping to launch each of them toward a bright and promising future.”
