A Message from Superintendent Lumetta

To the St. Bernard Parish Community,

For more than 36 years, I have been honored to be part of the St. Bernard Parish Public School System. These experiences have shaped not only my career but also my life. I am deeply grateful to the members of the St. Bernard Parish School Board for the trust they have placed in me, and I am honored to serve the School Board, our school system, and our community as Superintendent.

Every day, I see the dedication of our students, employees, school board members, families, and community members. Their commitment is what makes our schools strong. Our students’ accomplishments reflect the many people, inside and outside the classroom, who support them along the way.

Over the years, I have watched students grow into dedicated community members who continue to give back to St. Bernard Parish in meaningful ways. Those experiences have only deepened my belief that when schools thrive, the entire community benefits.

Our schools have always done their best work when the community partners with us. Those relationships have helped us navigate challenges, achieve success, and continue to grow. We look forward to building on those relationships and forming new ones in the years ahead.

Moving forward, learning will remain at the center of our work. We will stay focused on creating opportunities that help students grow, succeed, and prepare for whatever path they choose in life.

Throughout my career, I’ve learned that the most lasting impact often comes from simple moments like a kind word, encouragement, or taking the time to bring out the best in someone else. Those everyday acts of care and compassion are what make St. Bernard Parish such a special place.

I am looking forward to the work ahead, and I am confident in what we can achieve together as we build on the strong foundation already in place and continue creating opportunities for everyone to grow and thrive.
