Chalmette High School Natatorium Regulations
1. Obey teachers and lifeguards at all times.
If a student continually refuses to follow class rules, he/she will be removed from the swim program.
2. Every swimmer must wear a swim cap.
Swim caps can be brought from home or purchased for $1.00 at the pool.
3. Every swimmer must wear appropriate swim attire.
Girls in 4th-5th grades should wear a one-piece swimsuit. Those swimmers with religious concerns regarding modesty may wear clean, snug-fitting, covering garments that do not interfere with their safety in the water. Any T-shirt must be white and all fabrics should be fade-resistant.
4. Swimmers will take a swim test on the 1st day to determine the appropriate swim level class.
5. Candy, food, chewing gum, beverages, and food products of any kind are not allowed in the natatorium.
6. Glass items are not permitted anywhere in the facility.
7. Students must bring a clean towel each day.
Students will shower before they enter the pool and after lessons.
8. Please label all items your child brings to the pool.
Towels, beach bags, underwear, socks, etc., should be labeled. A swimsuit should be worn under clothing on the day of swim lessons.
9. Swim goggles are permitted. Eye masks that cover the nose are not permitted. Nose clips are not permitted.
10. Students may wear flip-flops on the deck and in the shower rooms.
11. No make-up days will be scheduled for any student.
12. Students with certain physical conditions, such as ringworm, open cuts, rashes, or lice may not swim until the conditions clear.
13. Parents may not be in the natatorium during swim lessons.
