Safe & Drug Free Schools & Communities Title IV
Mission
The purpose of the Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities (Title IV) efforts is to support programs that prevent violence in and around schools, that prevent the illegal use of alcohol, tobacco, and drugs; that involve parents and communities; and that are coordinated with related federal, state, school, and community efforts and resources to foster a safe and drug-free learning environment that supports student academic achievement (Title IV, Part A. Section 4002).
The St. Bernard Parish Public School System's comprehensive plan includes:
- Mentoring
- DARE
- Responsive classroom
- Red Ribbon Week
- Second Step (elementary and middle schools)
- Leadership development (middle and high schools)
- Too Good for Drugs (high school)
- Generation RX (high school)
- Resource Officers (high school)
