Mr. Tommy Zanca

Prior to joining the St. Bernard Parish School Board family, Mr. Zanca worked for Natural Resource Damage Assessments of LaJolla, California. While completing his research there he co-authored a Bibliography of Contingent Valuation Studies. Mr. Zanca was also certified to use The Economic Risk Assessment System (TERAS) while working for Mobil Exploration and Producing, U.S. His work included database design, implementation, and instruction for a Fortune 500 company.

Since 2009, Mr. Zanca has held a number of positions in St. Bernard Parish schools including substitute teacher, math interventionist, vocal coach, accompanist, and instructor of Visual Arts (Art of Theater). He has been a staff member of the Performing Arts Academy since 2013.

magna cum laude graduate of the University of New Orleans, Mr. Zanca also attended Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he performed with the Concert Choir under the direction of Dale Warland. When not teaching middle school science, Mr. Zanca is the principal organist at historic Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in New Orleans. He serves part-time at Our Lady of Prompt Succor parish in Chalmette, and is an accompanist for the New Orleans Childrens Chorus. He has served on the board of the New Orleans chapter of the American Guild of Organists and on the board of the Symphony Chorus of New Orleans.

Mr. Zanca is a member of the National Science Teachers Association.
