Hi!

I am Mrs. Katie Nettles! I was raised in St. Bernard Parish. I graduated from Chalmette High in 2007. I attended Nunez Community College where I achieved my Associates Degree. I went on to Northwestern State University and achieved my Bachelors and Masters.

I started my career in education at Nunez Community College as the Advisor for Career and Technical Education. I was promoted to Dean of Career and Technical Education in 2019. I also taught a few courses. I became a mom in 2021, and decided to take some time to spend with my baby. He made a year old in May 2022, and I was ready to get back to teaching! While working at Nunez, I worked closely with our high school dual-enrollment students. I truly enjoyed working with those students, so I knew becoming a high school teacher would be the perfect fit for me, and I was right!

Other than being a teacher, mom, and wife, I enjoy being a photographer. I also love to read and write poetry when I have the time!
