Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome to Mrs. Ellis’s fourth grade class at Arlene Meraux Elementary School. This will be an exciting and illuminating year!
Cherie Ellis is a longtime St. Bernard Parish resident, who graduated from Chalmette High in 2007. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2011 and her Masters in Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology 2014. This is her second year teaching in St. Bernard School System and her twelfth year as a certified teacher in Louisiana Public Schools.
Mrs. Ellis loves spending time with her family and friends. She has a great love for dance, music, crafting, cooking, and writing. Her passion has always been creating and developing. Teaching students has given her an opportunity to share that passion by helping shape and develop lifelong learners.
She strongly believes and teaches her students to “Start by doing what is necessary, then what is possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.” In her class all students are possible and capable of amazing things.
"Teachers affect eternity; no one can tell where their influence stops." Henry Brooks Adams
