Mrs. Powell was born and raised in St. Bernard parish, having graduated from Chalmette High School in 2016. She currently lives in Arabi with her husband, Alex, and her Siberian husky, Everest. Mrs. Powell graduated from the University of New Orleans with a Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies. Mrs. Powell comes from a family of educators. Both her mother and sister are currently teaching at Gauthier Elementary, and they both instilled a love for education and connection with students into her. 

For the 2022-2023 school year, she will be teaching Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade special education. She is very excited to meet and grow with all of her new students throughout the upcoming school year.

In her free time, Mrs. Powell enjoys hanging out with her family, playing with her dog, and visiting Disney World whenever she can!
