Ms. Lamonda Martin is a Business teacher at the Freshman Academy where she teaches Introduction to Business Computer Applications. (IBCA). She is a Crossett, Arkansas native who comes from a family of educators. She is an alumna of Louisiana Tech University where she graduated with a B.S. degree in Business Education (6-12). While in college, she was a member of the Louisiana Tech Track & Field Team where she competed in the throwing events. (shot put, discus, weight throw, hammer) Ms. Martin is currently in her 12th year of teaching. She started her teaching career at Belair Middle School (Pine Bluff, AR) in 2010 where she taught business classes for two years. In 2013, she relocated to Carroll High School (Monroe, LA) where she taught business classes and coached track & field for seven years. In 2018, Ms. Martin took a leap of faith and moved to New Orleans, Louisiana. She accepted a teaching and track & field coaching job at Belle Chasse High School where she remained for two years. This is Ms. Martin’s first year at Chalmette High School and she’s super excited to be a part of the Owl Family. She really enjoys having the opportunity to get her students certified in Microsoft Office. She finds satisfaction in knowing she is teaching them valuable skills they’ll be able to use for the rest of their lives. Ms. Martin enjoys traveling, cooking, sporting events, concerts, comedy shows, trying new restaurants, spending time with family & friends, attending church & arts & crafts. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. One interesting fact about Ms. Martin: She has an identical twin sister (Lashonda) who is also a teacher.
