Mr. Jasen Cornwell is a 6th and 7th grade Science teacher at Andrew Jackson Middle School. He was born in Opelousas, Louisiana and grew up in Diamondhead, MS where he graduated from Hancock High School. After High School, he attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and received his associate's degree in Business Administration. Afterwards he attended The University of Southern Miss and received his bachelor's in Accounting.

Mr. Cornwell is extremely excited to be teaching Science at AJ this year. His passion for science started at a young age. He loved being able to make hypotheses and then test their accuracies. It gave him an opportunity to use critical thinking skills and combine it with his talent of analyzing numbers. He hopes his students will have the same intrigue that he had when it came to science.

In his free time Mr. Cornwell enjoys woodworking. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter with family movie nights. He also enjoys following his favorite baseball team, Go Stros!
