Ms. Tess Gibson was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In order to pursue her goal of becoming a high school history teacher, she attended the University of Pittsburgh and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History. After graduation, Ms. Gibson decided to leave the Steel City for rural Alabama where she taught 11th grade English for two years. Eventually, she was recruited to move even further south, but back to a city of black and gold. She has spent the past four years teaching middle school in the East. Most importantly, Ms. Gibson is looking forward to teaching US History for the 2019-2020 school year at Chalmette High School.
When Ms. Gibson is outside of the classroom, she enjoys taking her dog for walks, eating her way through the city one crawfish boil at a time, and reading as many novels as possible. During the school year one of her favorite parts of the year includes attending football games and supporting other extra-curricular activities.
