Margaret Hovan is a recent graduate of the University of Mississippi's Honors College and is excited to be joining the Chalmette High School family teaching Physical Science at the 9th Grade Academy. During her undergraduate career, she worked in Student Affairs assisting first-year college students make a smooth transition from high school to collegiate life. She hopes to parlay that experience into helping students at the high school level prepare for their four years at Chalmette High and beyond.

She started her educational life here in St. Bernard Parish at Joseph J. Davies Elementary School. Her family relocated after Hurricane Katrina, but a passion for anything New Orleans is central to her identity. The love that Ms. Hovan has for science was fostered by the science teachers she has had and she hopes that students in her class will have their interests peaked and share her passion.
