    April 12, 2020

The time has come to get back to work! As you have heard, online class begins Monday, April 13th. From now until further notice, your online work is no longer optional but required and will count toward your spring semester grade. I’ve chosen readings and exercises that I think you will enjoy and succeed with on your own, so don’t fret. I will monitor your progress daily, and you will be graded for the assignments you complete each day.

Sarah Hailey

Sarah Hailey grew up in Kingston Springs, Tennessee and graduated from Harpeth High School in 2003. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Maryville College in 2007 and a Master of Arts in Spanish from Middlebury College, in Middlebury, Vermont in 2017.

After Hurricane Katrina, Ms. Hailey spent several summers of her college years in the Gulf Coast volunteering in rebuilding efforts, thus she moved to New Orleans in 2009 after she graduated and served as an Americorps volunteer at Delgado Community College.

She then taught outdoor education, after which she returned to Delgado to teach Adult Education for three years. Last year she joined the ranks at Chalmette High School to teach English II. She will do the same this fall, while also obtaining her Louisiana Teacher Certification through the Teach St. Bernard program.

In her free time, Ms. Hailey enjoys running, cycling, swimming and whitewater kayaking in the summer. She also loves to read, cook and spend time with friends and her dog Tallulah.

Yet her greatest adventure is getting to know her students and challenging them to accomplish feats beyond their wildest expectation, as her most beloved teachers did for her.
