The Arlene Meraux Elementary Chorus was formed to provide for the musical needs of the school, the St. Bernard Parish community, and the Greater New Orleans area. Chorus students will learn basic musical concepts and vocal techniques through the singing of many different musical styles.
The Chorus has performed for "Christmas at the Complex" in Chalmette and for the AME Christmas and Spring Concerts at the school. This year we will also be participating in the "Celebration of the Oaks" Christmas event in New Orleans City Park and the "Childrens Christmas Celebration" at Docville Farm in Violet. Our Spring Concet will be performed at the Chalmette High School Cultural Arts Center this year.
The AME Chorus is open to students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades who have a love and desire to sing great music.
