Ms. Lana Breaux

Ms. Breaux is the school counselor, and she is so excited to be part of the Meraux Elementary family.  It is so apparent how close-knit and welcoming the community is.  She feels very lucky to be part of it and to have the opportunity to pursue her passion, elementary school counseling.

Ms. Breaux is a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish.  After graduating from Chalmette High School in 2004, she attended Southeastern Louisiana University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in General Studies.   In 2010, she returned to St. Bernard Parish to teach at Joseph Davies Elementary.   Ms. Breaux received her teaching certificate in 2011 from Our Lady of Holy Cross College.  She continued her education at Lamar University, and in 2013 she received a M. ED. in School Counseling.

Ms. Breaux’s passion for school counseling began during her time as a classroom teacher. Ms. Breaux has eight years of teaching experience at the elementary level. What she loves most about the elementary level is the genuine curiosity students have in their learning and the world around them.

In her free time, Ms. Breaux enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and especially her 2 wonderful dogs, Roux and Bishop!
