    Our vision at Joseph J. Davies Elementary School is to become a premier school of academic excellence. We will accomplish this by providing an exciting, enriching, and engaging learning environment for all children. A partnership of staff, students, families, and the community will prepare students to become respectful, responsible, and productive members of society.
     
     
    Highlights: 
    • Joseph J. Davies Elementary was designated an "A" school by the Louisiana Department of Education.
    • In 2014, we were determined to be a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.
    • In 2013, we were chosen as a National Title 1 Distinguished School.
    • We have a strong partnership between staff, students, parents, and the community and a very active Parent-Teacher Organization.
    • The teachers and staff at Davies strive to provide the highest educational experience possible while maintaining a safe, secure environment in which students can achieve.
    • We offer a variety of clubs and activities for students to be involved in.  Some of these clubs are Chorus, Pep Squad, Majorettes, Beta Club, K-Kids, Pelican Players, WJDE News Crew,  Academic Games, Art Club and 4-H.  We also hold Literacy Week, Red Ribbon Week, and Math and Literacy Night.  
    • Our school is enriched with a plethora of technology.  Each classroom has a Promethean board, an ELMO, and 5 computers.  Our school also has 2 computer labs, iPad carts for kindergartners, and Promethean tables.  
    • We offer Pre-K to 5th Grade and our teachers strive to provide an exciting, engaging, and enriching learning experience for all.
    • Our school implements a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support Program.  
    • In the 2016-17 school year, our students earned over 47,000 Accelerated Reader points!
