Ms. Cheryl L. Damond
Ms. Damond was born and raised in St. Bernard Parish. She discovered her passion for mathematics during her years at St. Bernard High School through the teachings of Mrs. Julie Ginart. She attended Southern University of New Orleans where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in General Studies and has certifications in Special Education and Middle Mathematics through Teach St. Bernard alternative program. Ms. Damond worked as a para-educator in the St. Bernard Parish Public school system for six years and is now teaching 6th – 8th grade Special Education Mathematics at Trist Middle School where she’s been for the past five years. Ms. Damond received the 2018 Excellence in Education Award from the National Sorority of Phi Delata Kappa Inc. Alpha Theta Chapter in May of 2018. Her objective is to create an engaging and stimulating learning environment for her students as she strives to accelerate their learning progress through differentiating to meet the needs of all learners. She looks forward to forging a meaningful relationship with you and your child, and an open dialogue to enhance your child’s success in mathematics this school year.
