Mr. Carl Landry
A native of Breaux Bridge, La., Mr. Landry received his Bachelors and Masters of Music degrees in Performance as well as his Alternate Certification in Instrumental Music Education from the University of Louisiana Lafayette. He has also attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.
Mr. Landry has taught classroom music, chorus, and Band for grades K-12 in the private, parochial, and public school sectors for over twenty years.
A Grammy Award nominee, Mr. Landry has recorded and performed professionally with local, national, and international touring bands and celebrities for over 35 years.
Mr. Landry's music educational philosophy states that: Music is an essential element to any curriculum and can aid in the learning of several foundational skills such as communication, problem-solving, resource access and utilization, linking and generating knowledge, as well as citizenship. These goals can be achieved through creative expression, aesthetic perception, historical and cultural perspective, and critical analysis. It is his expectation that students will gain an appreciation for the different varieties of music that we will experience throughout the year. Mr. Landry hopes that students will gain an understanding of the importance of music in their curriculum.
Mr. Landry also has taught basic computer keyboarding and Journey to Careers for 6th and 8th grades.
