Ms. Sophia Crook

Sophia Crook is very excited to welcome her new 6th grade scientists to Andrew Jackson Middle School and is excited to have some returning 8th grade scientists! Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Ms. Crook has been at Andrew Jackson for six years. She has a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland in College Park. Go Terps!  Currently, she is working on her Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from LSU. While at Andrew Jackson before she has taught 8th grade math, 7th grade science, and 6th grade science. Along with teaching in the classroom, you can find Ms. Crook coaching on the volleyball court and the soccer field throughout the year.

In her spare time, Ms. Crook is an avid sports fan of all things Baltimore Ravens, Baltmore Orioles, and Maryland Terrapins. The photo is of Ms. Crook rubbing Testudo's (the mascot of the University of Maryland) nose for good luck. It is a tradition on campus to rub his nose for good luck before big tests and assignments. Ms. Crook brings this tradition into her classroom with a plush Testudo that all of her students enjoy rubbing the nose for good luck before their own tests. Since coming to Louisiana, she does love the New Orleans Saints and has adopted the LSU Tigers (Geaux Tigers!). She loves to watch sports, play volleyball, and read.
