Degrees and Certifications:
Joy Taylor grew up in Baton Rouge and graduated from Baton Rouge Magnet High School. She attended Louisiana State University and graduated with a B.A. in History. After graduating she went on to complete an Alternative Teacher's Certification Program at the University of Houston. She is currently working on a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. This will be Mrs. Taylor's 20th year teaching and her 7th year at Andrew Jackson Middle School. She is also the sponsor of a service organization called the Builder's Club at AJ. The Builder's club has made a point to dedicate their time helping the people of St Bernard Parish through food drives and fund raisers. She believes it is important for students to give back to the community they live in.
Mrs Taylor lives in St. Bernard Parish with her husband and two children who attend Andrew Jackson Middle School and Chalmette Elementary. She feels very lucky to teach and have her children attend school in such a wonderful district.
