Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Social Studies Education
Mrs. Abbie Schilling
Mrs. Schilling is a lifelong lover of learning! Born and raised in Arabi, she started her educational journey right here in the St. Bernard Parish School system. After being displaced by Hurricane Katrina, she graduated from high school in Poplarville, Mississippi. Her love of her hometown, however, brought her back to attend college at the University of New Orleans, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Social Studies Education. Having started her high school career as a high flying owl, she feels right at home as a faculty member here.
Mrs. Schilling is thrilled to be a teacher at Chalmette High School, teaching US History in the fall semester and AP Human Geography in the spring semester! She also enjoys her involvement in some of the wonderful extracurricular activities offered here at Chalmette High School. She is a proud member of the CHS Voices team- helping to promote music, theater, and dance for our young artists. She also serves as a co-coach for the Academic Games team, which encourages mental and academic agility and fortitude in some of our best and brightest students.
There are few things Mrs. Schilling deems more important than passion, learning, and growth- all of which she strives to bring into the many facets of her job here at Chalmette High School. She truly loves this community and is happy to be a part of its educational system!
