Mrs. Sara D'Antoni

Mrs. D'Antoni started her path to becoming a teacher at Birmingham Southern College, in Birmingham, Alabama, where she majored in History and Political Science and minored in Art History. She graduated with honors in 2008 and moved to New Orleans the same year. In 2010 Mrs. D'Antoni decided to follow in her grandmothers footsetps and become a public school teacher; she went to the Universtiy of New Orleans to gain a Masters Degree in Teaching and started at Chalmette High School shortly after graduation in 2013.

While teaching at Chalmette High School, Mrs. D'Antoni has furthured her commitment to being a lifelong student as well as teacher by becomeing a Hollyhock Fellow at Standford University in 2015. The Hollyhock Fellowship program is focused on bringing teachers from accross the nation together to create more inclusive classrooms for all learners. Mrs. D'Antoni was also certified to teach Advanced Placement classes in 2018 by the AP College Board. While at Chalmette High School, Mrs. D'Antoni has taught Civics, World History, Fine Art Survey, and AP Human Geography.

Mrs. D'Antoni is a lifelong student as well as teacher and loves all the opportunities education has brought her; from studying abroad at Oxford University during college to learning about and loving the St. Bernard community as an adult. 

Outside of school, Mrs. D'Antoni enjoys spending time with her husband, Phil D'Antoni, taking her dog Lucy on hikes throughout the southeast, and cooking.
