Mrs. Monica Hentze

Monica Hentze was born in New Orleans and has spent most of her life in St. Bernard Parish where she lives with her husband and two children.  She graduated from Andrew Jackson High School and the University of New Orleans.  While studying Biology at UNO, Ms. Hentze was inspired by the passion a professor had for the subject and realized the effect a teacher's attitude can have on students.  She strives to be such an inspiration with her own students by expressing her passion for biology and genuine enjoyment of teaching.   She hopes her students have as much fun in the classroom as she does, understanding that students learn so much more when they enjoy the class.  Attitudes are contagious!  She began teaching at Rowley Alternative School in 2011, then moved to Chalmette High in 2012.  She currently teaches Biology and Health Occupations, and has previously taught 7th & 8th grade science, Environmental Science, and Biology II. She is a sponsor of 4-H and Beta Clubs, as well as a class sponsor.
