Mrs. Kelli Plaiscia
Mrs. Kelli Plaiscia is a Physical Education teacher at Chalmette High School.
She started teaching at Chalmette High School in 1988. Mrs. Plaiscia is the head varsity volleyball coach and currently has over 600 career wins at Chalmette High. In previous years at Chalmette High, she also assisted coaching the girls’ basketball team and was the sprint and relay coach for both the boys’ and girls’ track teams.
Before coming to Chalmette High, Mrs. Plaiscia taught Physical Education at
P.G.T Beauregard High School. She was the head girls’ basketball coach and assistant volleyball coach from 1986-1988. At the end of the 1988 school year, Mrs. Plaiscia transferred to Chalmette High.
Mrs. Plaiscia graduated from the University of New Orleans with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, and has a health certification. She attended U.N.O. on an athletic scholarship playing volleyball. A four year team member, she currently holds the U.N.O. volleyball ace record.
Mrs. Plaiscia is a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish along with her husband and two children. She attended Lacoste Elementary, Trist Middle and Andrew Jackson High School. She has a passion for teaching and coaching and wanted to do that in St. Bernard Parish and in the public school system. Mrs. Plaiscia’s dream was to teach and coach in St. Bernard so she could give back to her community and have a positive impact on her students and athletes.
