Coach Chris McNamara is a physical education teacher at Chalmette High School. Along with his teaching duties, he is the head wrestling coach and assistant football coach.

  Coach McNamara is in his second stint at Chalmette High School, having previously started in 2002 and leaving after Hurricane Katrina hit the area. He spent time in Georgia, Pointe Coupee Parish, as well as Jefferson Parish, before returning to St. Bernard Parish in 2010.

  Coach McNamara received his Bachelors of Arts degree in General Studies from the University of New Orleans and then continued his education at Southern University of New Orleans, where he finished his certification. He holds teaching certificates in social sciences as well as health and physical education. He has taught special education, world history, civics/free enterprise and physical education during his teaching career.

  Coach McNamara has a passion for anything sports related. He and his wife, Yvette, have one son, Cooper.
