Welcome to Ms. Jenevein’s science class.  She has been teaching science at Chalmette High School since a 2006, joining the staff just after Katrina.   

Her parents were from New Orleans (mother) and St. Bernard Parish (father). She was born in Aransas Pass, Texas; lived in Orange, Texas & Galveston, Texas prior to her family moving back home to the Parish!  She lived in all of the following districts of St. Bernard Parish:  Chalmette, Arabi, St. Bernard & Meraux.  The schools she attended while in St. Bernard Parish are as follows: Rowley, Chalmette Jr. High, Andrew Jackson & St. Bernard Community College (while it was still on Andrew Jackson & Chalmette High’s Campuses).  She also attended St. Bernard Parish Community College, Nicholls State College, UNO, & Loyola. 

Her certifications are in Biology, Physical Science, Aerospace, Social Studies & Student Teacher Assessment.  Her highest degree is a Masters. Her teaching experience include the following: (1) Houma Jr. High (Terrebonne Parish)– Life Science  (1976-1977), (2) Catholic Jr. High of Pointe Coupee (Pointe Coupee Parish) – Life Science (1977-1979), (3) St. Bernard High School (Department Chair 1980-2005), – Biology I, Biology II, Physical Science, Environmental Science, Aerospace Science, & World Geography (1979-2005), (4) Bunch Middle School (Jefferson Parish) (2006) – Life Science, (5) Chalmette High School – Biology I, Biology II, Physical Science, & Environmental Science (2006-present). Overall, she has a total of 40 years teaching experience! School sponsorships at St. Bernard High School include: Jr. Beta & Beta Club Sponsor, & Co-Cheerleader Sponsor.  Extra-curricular at Chalmette High: concessions at games, Owl Week, and PBIS.

Her personal interests include the love of dogs and currently has two pound puppies named Latte’ (mixed Papillon-one year old), and Frappuccino (mixed Shitzu-three years old)!  She enjoys FB, surfing the Internet for recipes and educational information for her classes, needle point, shopping, reading mysteries, and old Perry Mason movies!

She hopes her students have a great year filled with fun activities, labs and learning!
