Mr. Paul J. Frey

Coach Frey is a '76 graduate of Chalmette High School.  He earned an Associates Degree in General Studies from Nunez Community College and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from the University of New Orleans.  He also received certifications in Physical Education and Health and Adapted Physical Education from Southeastern Louisiana University.  He has been teaching in St. Bernard Parish Public Schools since 1998.  Coach Frey returned to his Alma Mater in 2005 after teaching for seven years at Chalmette Middle School.

Coach Frey now works in the Special Education Department as an Adapted Physical Education Teacher. He has worked to bring Special Olympics back to St. Bernard Parish.  Since 2007, he has been the Director of Special Olympics for St. Bernard Parish Schools.

During his career, Coach Frey has coached football, boys basketball, and track at Chalmette High.  He also coached football, boys and girls basketball, baseball, and track at Chalmette Middle.  He now serves as an Assistant Track Coach working with jumpers.

While his formal education prepared him for his teaching career, Coach Frey believes his most vaulable learning experiences have come from his peer teachers and students.  He has the pleasure of working with teachers who taught him at Chalmette High as well as newer teachers who were his former students at Chalmette Middle.
