Parents and Students – W​elcome to Mrs. Tortorich’s class! This year will be filled with wonderful experiences and opportunities to learn and grow in the days ahead.

 

Mrs. Tortorich graduated from Our Lady of Holy Cross College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in May of 2014. She taught 2^nd grade at Arabi Elementary School from 2014-2017. In 2017 she began at the new Arlene Meraux Elementary teaching 2nd grade. 

 

She decided to become a teacher when she was a senior in high school. She started her journey to become a teacher at Nunez Community College and graduated with an associate degree. She then continued her education at Our Lady of Holy Cross College and graduated at the top of her class. Mrs. Tortorich strives to be the type of teacher that inspired her when she was a student in the St. Bernard Public School System.

 

Mrs. Tortorich became a teacher to help students to reach their full potential in academics. She loves to see how much each student will grow in one school year. She wants to make each student get excited about learning new things. She incorporates songs and dances to get the students involved in learning.

 

During time away from school, Mrs. Tortorich enjoys spending time with her husband, sons, family, and friends. She loves to have company over to barbecue, boil crawfish, and to go off road mud-riding.
