Mr. Coach Woody
This is Coach Woody's ninth year as a Physical Education Teacher within St. Bernard Parish. He has been teaching Physical Education for over a decade now. Coach Woody has coached girls and boys soccer for many years both in and out of St. Bernard Parish and has coached tennis at Chalmette High School for years now. Previously Coach Woody taught Physical Education for 2 years at the International School of Louisiana, both the New Orleans and Jefferson Parish Branches and at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Elementary and Middle School located in St. Charles Parish. There he coached his middle school volleyball team to an undefeated season. He completed his Student Teaching at Harry Hurst Middle School which is also located in St. Charles Parish. He was an assistant Physical Education Teacher for one year and a Soccer Coach for two years at Thomas Jefferson High School. While he was the Assistant Physical Education Teacher at Thomas Jefferson High School, the Physical Education Teacher was awarded Physical Education Teacher of the Year in Jefferson Parish. In addition to teaching, Coach Woody worked as a Sports Camp Counselor at the University of New Orleans Summer Sports Camp for Kids for 4 consecutive years and as a Counselor and Sports Specialist at Tulane University "Ripples" Summer Camp for Kids for 11 consecutive years. Prior to his teaching career Coach Woody worked as a Fitness Trainer and as a Kids Sports Instructor at the New Orleans and Metairie Jewish Community Centers. Coach Woody obtained a Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Promotion and possesses K-12 Health and Physical Education Teacher Certification from Southeastern Louisiana University. Just for fun and exercise Coach Woody enjoys playing in many United States Tennis Association Leagues and Tournaments and has done so for the last two decades.
