Maintenance
In the St. Bernard Parish School System, the Maintenance Department is instrumental in preserving the conducive learning environment across our 12 schools and numerous facilities, encompassing a vast 2 million square feet of indoor space each year. This dedicated team undertakes a diverse range of responsibilities essential for the upkeep and safety of our educational spaces. From routine inspections and repairs to HVAC systems, electrical wiring, plumbing, and structural maintenance, their meticulous efforts ensure that classrooms, libraries, gymnasiums, and administrative buildings are safe, functional, and comfortable for students, educators, and staff alike. Beyond essential maintenance tasks, they respond promptly to emergencies, such as weather-related incidents or unexpected equipment failures, to minimize disruptions to daily operations. Their proactive approach not only preserves the physical infrastructure of our schools but also supports the positive atmosphere that fosters learning and growth among our students. By maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency, the Maintenance Department plays a crucial role in reinforcing the sense of pride and community within St. Bernard Parish Public Schools, ensuring that every student can learn in a secure and inspiring environment.
