State Testing Begins in April

State testing will take place for St. Bernard Parish students throughout the months of April and May. Computer-based testing will be given to grades 3-8. High school students taking Algebra I, Geometry, English I, English II, Biology, Civics and U.S. History will take the LEAP2025 assessment for each of these courses throughout the month of May.

Third through fifth grade, students will be taking the English Language Arts and Mathematics tests April 30-May 2, 2025. These students will be taking the Science and Social Studies tests

May 5-7, 2025. Sixth through eighth grade, students will be taking the English Language Arts and Mathematics tests April 23-25, 2025. The science and social studies assessments will be administered April 29- May 1, 2025.

Students enrolled in state-approved home-study programs, district approved virtual program, and students currently enrolled in private or parochial schools who plan to enter public schools next year for enrollment in grades 5 or 9 must register for this test. These students may participate in testing at their district public school during the scheduled testing sessions. Registration is required for participation and a fee of $35 per content area will be assessed. Registration forms may be completed at the St. Bernard Parish School Board Administration Office at 200 E. St. Bernard Highway until March 14, 2025. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Registration forms must be hand delivered or mailed to the school board office along with the assessment fee. The last day to register for state testing with your district school is March 14, 2025.

Students currently enrolled in St. Bernard Parish public schools are not required to register for state testing.

Grade 4: April 30-May 2, 2025 (ELA & MATH) COMPUTER BASED TESTING - Approximately a 2 ½ hour window each day

Form must be submitted by March 14, 2025. Payment must be either mailed or hand-delivered to the School Board Office, located at 200 East St. Bernard Highway, Chalmette, LA 70043. Payment must be received for registration to be finalized. Ask to speak with or put to the attention of: Jeannie Lannes or Lona Cook when delivering or mailing to the school board office.

You will receive a letter via email notifying you that your child was registered for the assessment. The letter will contain information regarding the testing time and location approximately two weeks prior to the start of testing.
