Welcome to Ms. Powers’ 1st grade class at Lacoste Elementary.  She is looking forward to a fun filled and exciting year. This is her fifth year as a Lacoste Elementary teacher.  She is a proud Lacoste K-Kids moderator. Ms. Powers earned her Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education from Our Lady of Holy Cross College.

Ms. Powers believes the key to creating successful students is communication and building a succesful relationship with each students guardian. She strives to educate each students mind and heart through engaging curriculum and teaching social skills that will help each student thrive in their school and home environment.

Ms. Powers' favorite activity is spend time with her family. She loves to go fishing, hunting, swimming, dancing and baking, but most of all spending time with family and friends. She is a huge animal lover. She is a big Disney and Marvel fan.  She loves comics and superheros. Captain American and Captain Marvel are her two favorite superheros. She loves to read fantasy and historical non-fiction. She believes Knowledge is Power.

  • Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year.

    Students will be coming home with several important papers. Please make sure to complete and return all paperwork as soon as possible.

    I am looking forward to great year.

  • Students will be given two folders daily. A red Lacoste folder and a folder labeled "study folder."

    The red Lacoste folder will contain all Lacoste and first grade communication as well as the weekly homework packet. The homework packet will be given out every Monday and is to be completed by Friday. Conduct calendars are located in the back outside sleeve of folder. Please initial nightly. Test packets will be given out every Wednesday. Please sign and return by Friday of that week.

    The study folder will contain math sprints, spelling words, and upcoming test information.  Math sprints and spelling word practice sheets should be practiced nightly using the clear sleeve and dry erase marker provided.  

    Please remember to check both folders daily and turn in homework every Friday as it is 10% of your child's final grade.
