Thank you for your cooperation!
Welcome to the new school year and Chalmette Elementary School. To those of you who are new to CES, we are happy to have you join our family; and, to those of you returning to CES, welcome back!
Our school district’s theme for the year is CONNECTIONS – we want to have positive, continuing connections between and among our students, their parents, our teachers and administrators, and our school community. We recognize that the most important connection we can foster is the bond between teacher and student. Therefore, our school’s theme for the year is EVERY CHILD…EVERY DAY, and we will devote every effort to making a connection to YOUR child today, tomorrow, and every day.
We are aware of our great responsibility in fostering a positive environment for your child and are grateful that you have entrusted us with that responsibility. We plan to stay connected with our parents, too, and we need your help in developing strong home/school communications. Therefore, please plan to be an involved parent: supporting your child’s academic work at home, asking questions of the teacher when you have them, and attending as many events as possible that celebrate your child’s learning. We need your positive support, and we need you to stay connected!
I want to connect you with new faces you may see at CES this school year.
· We are delighted to introduce Mrs. Katie McNab as our new Assistant Principal. Mrs. McNab has over twenty years of experience as an elementary teacher and teacher leader in our district. She will be an invaluable asset to our family.
· Also, we welcome Mrs. Kathyrn Lanier to our staff as our new guidance counselor. Mrs. Lanier will be a strong asset as we work to establish positive connections among our parents, teachers, and students.
· Finally, we have a few new teachers: at Kindergarten, we welcome Ellen Doody; Keely Held has joined our third grade team; Sierra Burrell is the newest member of the fourth grade group; Christian Angeletti, Ronni Stefano, and Hannah Michalik round out our fifth grade faculty; and Ashley Bailey and Hannah Butler are our new PreK teachers. We are fortunate to have such dedicated child advocates as part of our CES family.
We are looking forward to a great school year and ask that you remember to stay CONNECTED! Let’s count on each other to be partners in your child’s learning and growth this year!
