I hope this message finds you and your family well and safe. St. Bernard Parish Public School District released a district-wide Plan for the 2020-2021 School Year. This plan detailed the physical, environmental, and wellness standards we will be operating under this upcoming year.
As outlined in this document, the current plan is for Arabi Elementary to begin the 2020-2021 school year. This means teachers and students will be reporting back to the physical school building while maintaining the health and wellness guidelines outlined by the school district and state officials. As new information and procedures develop the district will continue to provide updates.
To prepare for the beginning of the school year, you can find important information such as school supply lists, dress code, and attendance policies by visiting www.sbpsb.org/StrongStart2020.
On August 11th some students will begin coming to school with a staggered start. On the assigned day, students will learn procedures and protocols that have been put in place for the health and well-being of all. It is important that students attend on their assigned day.
Aug. 11 - only students with last names beginning with A-D
Aug. 12 - only students with last names beginning with E-K
Aug. 13 - only students with last names beginning with L-Q
Aug. 14 - only students with last names beginning with R-Z
ON MONDAY, AUGUST 17TH, ALL STUDENTS (EXCEPT PRE-K) WILL REPORT FOR CLASS.
In past years, Arabi Elementary has hosted Supply Night Drop Off/ Back-to-School Night. Given the current guidelines, instead we will be presenting a series of pre-recorded Back to School Night Videos the night prior to the start of school. It will be posted on our school webpage as well as the official Arabi Elementary Facebook page. Students may bring supplies any day the first week of school, a few at a time.
Our administrators and staff are currently working around the clock to prepare for a beginning of the school year that prioritizes students’ and staff’ wellness while also providing a rich educational experience.
Thank you for your continued support and trust as we navigate this ever-changing and very fluid situation. Please call our school at 504-218-5058 with any questions or concerns.
