Brandy Tucker is a fourth grade teacher at Joseph J. Davies Elementary. She was born and raised in St. Bernard Parish. Mrs. Tucker is a mother to a blended family of nine children and is the wife of Coach Jason Tucker, of Chalmette High School. Three of their children are students at Trist and one is at Davies. In November 2019, they welcomed their first grandson, Isaiah Matthew Tucker.
Mrs. Tucker graduated from Nunez Community College with an Associates in Arts degree in Early Childhood Education. She also graduated from Our Lady of Holy Cross College with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a master's degree in Educational Leadership. She started working toward her doctoral degree in Education but decided to focus on motherhood. She has numerous certifications, but the one closest to her heart is her Montessori Certification which reminds her, "Of all things you can do or give a child, LOVE is the most potent."
This educator believes that ALL children can learn. She incorporates music and movement daily throughout her lessons. She has proven that with attention and love, any child can flourish. She believes in looking in every child's eyes and saying every child's name every day. One of her favorite quotes is, "If you can't teach children the way they learn, then learn the way to teach them." No child will ever be left behind in Mrs. Tucker's class.
