WALKERS: If you DO NOT live in the “walk zone” your child will NOT be permitted to be a walker.

Parents will not be allowed to walk their child in the building.

All students can either report to the cafeteria to pick up a grab-n-go breakfast or report directly to their classrooms.

    Getting Ready and School Safety:

    • Students in Pre -K, K, 1, and 2 have the option of wearing a face covering  - we strongly encourage this!
    • Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 must wear a face covering.

Face coverings can be of any color or pattern but cannot contain writing or symbols which may be perceived as vulgar, profane, satanic, gang-related, violent, political, or tobacco, drug or alcohol-related. In accordance with our dress code, bandanas may not be worn as a face covering. The principal will make the final decision as to whether a face covering is acceptable.

    • All students must practice social distancing when moving around the classroom/building.
    • Please check your child’s temperature and assess them daily.  If your child has a temperature of 100.4 or higher, a cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell, or has been in direct contact with someone who has COVID-19, please keep them home and contact their medical provider.
    • When waiting on the bus, please have your child practice social distancing.
    • Students will use hand sanitizer as they board the bus.
    • Temperature checks will be done at school daily.  Students who have a temperature of 100.4 or higher, will need to be picked up immediately.
    • Students should bring their own water bottle to school.  Students will be allowed to fill their water bottle during the day.  The water fountains will be closed.
    • Students will wash their hands or use sanitizer throughout the day.
    • Students will wear their face covering and practice social distancing when waiting in line for food & use hand sanitizer before getting their food.
    • Access to the campus will be limited to students and staff members only at this time.
    • Doorknobs, light switches, bathrooms and other high traffic areas will be cleaned throughout the day.
    • All buildings and work spaces will be cleaned daily.

    First Day of School:

    • Students should wear the enclosed information tag.
    • Bus riders are strongly encouraged to ride the bus on the first day so they know which bus to take home.
    • Faculty and staff will be in the hallways directing students to their classrooms.
    • School supplies should be sent with the students over the first three days.

    School Supplies:

We will not have a School Supply night this year.  We ask that parents send in school supplies over the first three days of school.  Please make sure to send the pens, paper, notebooks, binders, etc. on the first day.  You can send the other items on the second and third days.

    Address Change:

Contact the school office at 304-5747 if you have moved.  You will need to submit documentation for your new proof of residence.

If possible, we are asking that parents bring and pick their children daily. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we have limited seating on the buses and would like to reserve those spaces for students who have no other form of transportation.

Uniforms are required for all students.  Please refer to the St. Bernard Parish Uniform Policy prior to purchasing school uniforms.  Stores may advertise articles of clothing as “uniforms”; however, they may not meet the district uniform policy.

    Class Assignments:

Your child’s homeroom teacher will call prior to school to gather important information such as PM transportation. Teachers and staff members will be directing students to the appropriate classrooms as they arrive on campus. Again, it would help if you have your child wear the enclosed information tag the first couple of days of school.

Please continue to monitor our district/school’s websites and Facebook pages for the most current and accurate information.
